Long time no see. Pardon me, I will try to get better, cause I do want to preserve these priceless memories! Of course, I have a bunch of excuses. But first things first.
I have such a divine feeling of harmony inside of me lately. I do get upset occasionally, but I am just a human being. For the most part though I feel happy, thankful, and blessed. I watch my young little family grow and mature, and it fills my heart with joy. I rock Sawyer to sleep, sing him lullabies, ans try to enjoy every second, since I know it won't last for too long. Don't think though that it's all perfect at this stage too. Sometimes my little boy is cranky all day. Most of the evenings he would throw a tantrum being overtired, but refusing to go to bed. I would rock him for an hour while he would cry, kick his legs, push me away. I would lose it, put him down in his crib, walk away. 5 minutes later I would be back, I would pick him up and try to comfort him as he's screaming. Eventually he would fall asleep in my arms like a little angel, and I would refuse to put him back in his bed. I always joke that I love him the most when he's sleeping.
He doesn't wake up much at night anymore. It used to be a nightmare though. Month 3 through month 8 - constant teething happened. Sawyer was always cranky, unhappy, mean. He was waking up every hour at night, and I existed beyond exhaustion. This past winter was quite a challenge too on top of everything. It was super cold, super snowy, and super long - basically from November till April. Now we are having a pretty chilly summer, but at least it's sunny and warmish. For all that reasons I wasn't really writing anything down. I was too exhausted, depressed, and sleep deprived. And I didn't want to keep that uneasy months witnessed on paper. I just want to be able to forget all the bed stuff and focus on all the best. I kept records of all the big moments and new milestones though. They are registered in Sawyer's keepsake album and on instagram.
Back to the good stuff though. At his 10,5 months Sawyer has 8 teeth, he crawls, claps his hands, stands by himself, and last week he made his first few independent shaky steps. He eats pretty much everything. His favorite word is 'dada'. When he's crying or unhappy though he usually yells 'ma-a-a-m'. He has been 'brushing' his teeth for about a month and a half already. We put him on the potty occasionally, but as for now he has no clue about why we are doing it. He loves music. I sing a lot to him. He loves my guitar, not so interested in his toy piano though. I think he will be a singer/musician. He will definitely have what it takes, and I will contribute to it as much as I can. He loves Russian cartoons. LOVES! He can sit there watching 'Masha and the Bear' for hours, I am not even joking. I take an advantage of that addiction early in the morning when Soy is up and I want to snooze for a little bit longer. I turn his cartoons on for him and rest on a couch with one eye closed. His favorite songs are Russian kids' songs - 'Chunga Changa', 'Red Riding Hood', "Bremen's Musicians'. He loves playing tickle games and finger games like 'koza rogataya' and 'mishka kosolapiy'. He also loves watching me sweep and mop the floor. Sawyer still eats a lot of formula. His favorite fruit is banana - my little monkey. He love avocado, all fruit purees, eggs, fish, chicken, turkey, puffs, cookies, toasts, pancakes.
As we are approaching his first birthday I can't believe it's all happening. My son is almost 1 year old. Sometimes I still can't believe I am a mother already. It's like I am living someone else's life. I hope I will be able to throw a wonderful party for our little boy. I will be preparing for it during this whole upcoming month.
I in the meantime we all try to enjoy our first summer with our lil guy. We go for long walks, take Soy to the park, swings, and sprinklers. We've been together to Lincoln Park Zoo, Santa's Village, Bristol Renaissance Fair, Chicago Children's Museum, the beach, Rib Fest, Harold Washington Library, restaurants, friends' houses. I take tons of pictures daily and thank God for everything I have in life.
Peace be with you all!
